The 2010 winner was Honour McCann

About the Winner

Born in Montreal, Honour McCann briefly attended high school in Victoria then went on to study science at the University of Toronto, where she is currently working on her PhD in evolutionary biology. Honour found the SCRIPT Award “a great challenge” and met it with creativity and skill. She drew inspiration for her mini epic from her research on a bacterial pathogen involved in a coevolutionary arms race with its plant hosts. “This struggle for existence is the stuff of epic, great tragedies played out on microscopic stages”, she said.
